Theme

Finding the best outfit was a task that would often take days for Adrienne, and minutes for Aria. Captain Adrienne decided to sport an Elizabethan Doublet, paired with an elegant, short pirate skirt. He also choose a crystal blue ring to adorn his long ears. And to top it all off, a tri corn hat, adapted for long eared creatures.

Aria’s outfit was, unsurprisingly, less elaborate. Going for a dark blue vest and a sailor handkerchief tied around her tiny neck. After much pursuing, Adrienne convinced her to at least wear a black eye patch.

There was a relaxing silence in the house. Aria had just finished preparing herself some breakfast and was ready to chomp it down. Juicy looking fruits adorned her plate and to the side was a glass full of pure white milk.

Her tasty meal was invaded by a horrifying thought. Last time Adrienne went absent so long, he had returned with a signup sheet for the Gourmet Gauntlet.
Her horrible thoughts were confirmed when, with a startling sound, the door slammed open.
As if he were being chased, Adrienne closed the door behind him immediately after entering.

“Aria, Aria!” His elegant, high pitched voice was something Aria would enjoy if Adrienne did not talk so much. “Take a look at this!”
He slammed the desk with a piece of paper. Aria laid eyes on orange, old looking paper. She knew nothing good could ever come out of this.

Adrienne was very energetic and impulsive for an Aurorian fox. Money did not seem to interest the thin bodied man. But rather, it was either the thrill of an adventure or the promise of looking prettier.

“Whoa Adrienne, is this a job request?” Aria asked with intrigue, as her tiny crystal hands delicately grabbed the yellowed paper. However Aria's newfound intrigue quickly fell back into apathy as she began to read more. Expecting an answer from Adrienne, Aria lifted her bored gaze to the Aurorian Fox, whose eyes were shining with the same determination and excitement as they always did.

“What makes you think we can go on a treasure hunt? We barely have any money left after traveling all the way here to participate in the Gourmet Gauntlet. We didn’t even partake in it because you could not bring yourself to write a simple poem!” Hearing this, Adrienne merely shrugged off Aria's concerns, served himself a glass of milk and perched himself calmly on the seat next to her. “If you cannot do things with elegance and beauty, do not do them at all. That’s my motto.”

“But Aria Look! It says here that the entrance is absolutely free, and they will even give us our own ship!” Aria knew that this was too good to be true, and she looked back at the form suspiciously. "Okay, and what's the catch?"

"None at all!" Piped Adrienne, happily. "We just have dress up like pirates, claim our ship and--" Aria placed the form back down on the table with a disinterested sigh, before picking up her fork and tucking into her meal again. "Forget it." As Aria continued to eat, she attempted to ignore the pleading look that Adrienne was most likely giving her. "Look Adrienne, this all sounds like a scam. Who would even provide people with ships in exchange for such a ridiculous request? I bet that if we go there, we will be..." Aria's voice trailed off as her eyes wandered across the form again, coming to a stop at a photo of two very familiar people. "Are those...the harbormasters?" Asked Aria, as the stared at the photo in disbelief. There was no doubt about it. Aria would recognize these people anywhere. They were the harbormasters, Aquila and Raphael. There was no way that people this prestigious and widely loved would pull a prank on the entire city.

With a defeated sigh, Aria gave in. Upon seeing this, Adrienne let out a triumphant cheer as he pulled out another form for Aria from his bag, "Okay Aria, you can fill your form out, I've already done mine!" Exclaimed Adrienne, as he began enthusiastically doodling on a piece of paper. "I'm going to design our costumes and flag - With beauty!"
So there are our two fabulous pirates. Adrienne and Aria. I included a tiny prologue along with the application.

You will find out more about this strange couple when the actual story starts!
